They say that every picture tells a story, but not always obvious at the time or in the way you originally intended. After the shot it all became clear.
It was a cloudy day but we were at the beach anyway as we had visitors. I took the following shot with the idea of calling it ‘Working from Home’.
As it turns out, one was glad he was (maybe) working from home as one of our party, only swimming a few metres out, found themselves unable to get back to shore due to the strong undercurrents at that time. Initial calls for help were unsuccessful until full, desperate screams alerted this man and his partner to the situation and they acted immediately. Eternal gratitude.
Thankfully, apart from being shocked and shaken by the experience, all was eventually well with our visitor. It could have been so much worse and, fortunately, lessons were (hopefully) leaned by all concerned. It doesn’t matter how shallow the water or how close to shore you may be, danger is sometimes not far away.
