I was strolling along the towpath of the rio Chillar (not really a towpath and not really a river as there is rarely any water in it…but apart from that) in search of some birds to photograph, but subjects were few and far between.

Those that were around seemed to steadfastly refuse to come out and play, so I paused near the Puente Viejo (Old Bridge) for a while to ponder my surroundings. Why not just take shots as people cross the bridge, I thought to myself, could be mildly interesting. Maybe. So I did.
