La Paloma Park – Parque de la Paloma – located right in the centre of Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena, is a 200,000 square metre municipal park with quite a sizeable lake at its centre. The park is very picturesque, well laid out and maintained and well worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

It is a very pleasant place for a relaxing picnic lunch. In March 2023 the park was declared a ‘smoke-free zone’, although it is not actually enforceable under current Spanish law or regulations.

Plenty of birds of all types, including ducks and gulls, as well as turtles and the odd rabbit – obviously domesticated buns that have been released into the wild at some stage.
