There are so many different types of rum with varying strengths of aroma, taste and, of course, alcohol content.
Ron Yacaré is a honey flavoured rum – 2% bees honey by all accounts – and you can certainly taste the honey from the off. Quite a thick texture, sweet tasting of course, being honey, but only 20% alcohol by volume which, I presume, makes this more of a liqueur. Or does it?
There is some speculation that it is, or was, a Dominican Republic rum, although I haven’t been able to find any evidence of this. Nothing on the label, front or back. One site states ‘Spain’ as the country of origin.
Pleasant enough as a sipping rum, the sweetness helping it go down quite well!!
